Ace of Spades (free version)

Some of you might have seen 'Ace of Spades' on Steam at the moment. The older version (which is very different) is still up at this site:

So if you want to play it, or you miss the original, just register and then download the game. Click 'Hot to play' for instructions on how to get the game working.

For those who don't know, Ace of Spades is a first person shooter in the style of minecraft. You have four tools:
Spade, to dig with.
Blocks, to make defenses or whatever.
A gun. Thee choices here, the rifle (one shot head, 3 shots body), the SMG (lots of shots... to anywhere), the shotgun (point, click, boom)
Three grenades, these can be used for tunneling too.

Anyway you should check it out, especially because it's free, I find it quite entertaining although it's a slow paced game and not everybody will like its style.

eh, they made the graphics and feel better but they sped the gameplay up. Now there's not really enough time to build defenses or cut down defenses without being attacked, so it just becomes a weird looking shooter.

It is for Steam, but the Steam version makes you pay. So to play it for free you have to register and account at the link Poozy posted and play it from there.


Also, I just got my best streak which I recorded. This is a surprisingly addictive and fun game, me gusta.

TL;DW - Jagex turned Ace of Spades from a slow-paced World War I creative shooter that anyone's computer can run into a fast-paced explosive lagfest that is in dire need of optimization. Essentially, Ace of Spades 1.0 is CodCraftFortress 2. Personally, I preferred the old Ace of Spades.

I got permabanned yesterday (unbanned now of course) because an admin thought I was using an aimbot and ESP, which I proved against. I've also been votekicked for aimbotting 7 times today on different servers. This game doesn't like it if you play well :C

Sounds to me like the community can't handle a good player.

I know how you feel. I have to purposely play worse than usual to avoid getting votekicked.

Yep I know that feeling. When me and my brother were still interested in Ace of Spades, we used to get kicked so much for "aimbotting."

I don't think it's possible and if it is, it's probably through hacks.
