Default Camden, NJ scraps its police department to save money

    And why is this important?
Camden, NJ is the most dangerous place in the United States. There will be no police department for now to save money.

It's being replaced by a metro division of the county police... it's not like there won't be cops there.

Many municipalities in CT have no police department and we have absolutely no county government leaving many calls purely up to the state troopers. And CT is still a very safe place to live if you don't live in Hartford, Bridgeport or New Haven.

Hm... Camden isn't way too far from where I live, YOL-
Okay not really that close. Some cities are going to be dangerous even with police presence. Across the Delaware River, Philadelphia isn't all too safe.

Camden is not the most dangerous in the United States.. that's exaggerating.

I've heard it's pretty bad though, I haven't been there, but my friends said they played the town in a basketball game for school.. and it sounds pretty awful. I don't live anywhere near there, though.

This is becoming common practice to scrap local departments in favor of contracting County or State Police to take over. In my area, in recent years, about 3 towns contracted the county police to patrol and many towns are considering it at the moment.
