Thread: Can I take you seriously?

Default Can I take you seriously?

Well, can I? Should I trust you and what you say a lot of the time?
For me, it depends. If the topic's serious, so am I, but if it's not....

I am serious when the matter calls for it most of the time.
And if not, no u mode is activated.
    I made it myself
I'll work on it again soon I promise

I'm always serious except when I'm not.

Most of the time, I would say err on the side of "he's serious" when it comes to my posts.

If I see a thread asking a personal question and have enough patience, I usually type a reply that's essentially a stream of consciousness - not the truth, not lying, not a joke, but something in-between - something I do because I get to get a kind of a view into my inner psyche. Plus, the text is usually too long for anyone to distinctly read through it and try to grasp it - usually because it's impossible. I honestly never get to see such glimpses of other people, deep down inside, on the internet. "Deep", meaningful posts are usually too factual and rigid for me to be real, pure attitudes of the persons; furthermore, I think that these deep thoughts and ramblings are made through a mindset that believes that people will marvel at their intelligence. I maintain the belief that these deep posts are usually pretentious and should be stuck to themselves, but I believe that a simple opinion is too little to really get to know the person.
This type of post, I think, is the real middle-man - a showcase of the person's style and beliefs, while being down-to-earth and including a little zest of zaniness without being overblown. I feel that if people made these kinds of posts, I would definitely read them and get to share such ideas through a new medium of speech not dominated by formality, but rather the creativity of the inner mind.

Now, it is up to you to decide whether or not to take this post seriously.

You maintain that posts which go in-depth on a subject are pretentious and then claim that your style of writing, which you also claim is almost exclusive to you, is the proper method of showing deep thought?

I choose to take this post as non-serious as this would be very hypocritical.
