Let's Rebuild JV, From The Ground Up

As pointed out by Jennifer, JV has really become overran with.. Well.. People that resemble leeches. They are literally sucking the life out of JV. I remember when there were actually some quality threads, with quality responses. Yes, some fulfilled with arguments followed with consequences, but still. The fact that they were more than one word responses, defeats the negativity.

I've been around JV since 2008. It's a great site overall. I used to average so much time on the site, now I can barely stand to come on it, because the posts are; as previously stated, pictures, one words, or completely irrelevant.

So, lets take a stand. People who've been here since the start, people who just joined. Lets actually make JV the community it used to be.

Some simple guidelines to solve SOME problems.

No more "This VS. This Threads"


Seriously, what the hell is the point, it's bound to get one word responses, and it's just a nice reason for you to post. You don't even have to voice an opinion, you just have to post. In all honesty, it's stupid. Sure, one of these every now and again, is fun, and I enjoy them. But I'm so sick of just seeing these.

No more "Chained Threads"

You know exactly what I mean here, you know how you see a "Do You Think, Who Is The, Whats The, Best/Worst, Do/Don't" They are just annoying, a few is fine, but EVERY TIME THERE IS A THING ON JV, THERE SOON FEEDS SOME INNOCENT MIND, AND CAUSES THEM TO MAKE MORE. I don't know why, but it's starting to overflow and get annoying.

No more "Picture Only Responses"

Yeah, sure, they are funny, but make sure it's not the same pictures over and over again. It's just as bad as spam, and eventually kill conversation.

Speak Up

If you see someone posting one word responses, it practically is spam, report it, quote it in your reply, letting them know it is irrelevant. Of course everyone has the right to post, blahblahblah, but when it's sucking the life out of JV. It's where you should draw the line. It is YOUR COMMUNITY YA'KNOW.

Sorry, but in all honesty, what is your say in someone blogging it. It's just as much spam as "TEH DRUMS" (Lol, the good ole days) But if you think someone should have blogged their thread, keep it to yourself, it's not going to change the fact that they already have created the thread, you just don't need to voice in on how unnecessary their thread was.

Quality Posts

What do I mean, by quality? I mean more than this.


So lets give it a shot JV. It's up to us as a whole to complete JV. It is what we make of it.
Post anything resourceful that might count towards rebuilding JV.

That'd be impossible. JV doesn't even need to be "rebuilt", people just need to be more mature about things. Plus, you're barely even active, how does this really concern you...?

Pipe dream. People are going to act like they do, and you can't really do anything about it because, let's face it, most people here are 15 or under and really don't have very much interest in always making intelligent posts. I wasn't around during the so-called "Glory Years", but I can tell you right now that nothing, especially a list of "Do's and Do Not's" , is going to magically change this forum, unfortunatly.

Sadly, I am active. Not posting, doesn't mean that a person is inactive. I browse alot, I still play the games quite frequently, and I interact with the more mature members, in and out of Jv. Posting doesn't determine ones activity within a community. Also, it concerns me cause.. Well. It used to and still is one of my favorite forums. It was one of my first forums too. Anyhow, look around you. How doesn't it concern you.

Edit: Also, I'd like to say that by 'active' I meant 'actively participating in the forum', which implies posting. I just mean that you're not somebody who really gets involved all that much.

I do agree on that, although I am not happy about the way most of JV is acting at the moment, I mean, sometimes, it's funny, but always? I don't think so.

And who is Prism to decide that Drexxo's idea, isn't rather clever. Seriously, your trying to be a troll, and you suck at it.

Also, if you knew me from back in '08, till late '10. You'd know how active I was. Then I was banned, for a year and a half. I finally got the mods to decide on letting me back, and JV was pretty much dead.
