Off-topic forum?

I'm thinking it could be a sub-forum in VG, so posts wouldn't count.
Also, maybe Jiggmin could change it to be like the Ask a Mod section, where posts there don't show up in the recent posts tab.

Also I think that adding an 18+ section along with it would be nice, since there are enough 18+ members and content that I think it would get used enough.

I can see the pros of it, but I'm not willing to bring that up with Jiggmin or even consider pushing for it.

well, here is another idea to prevent spamming. What if the posts/threads at there didn't count as a post? That might work.

Haha, I honestly do not think of "18+" when I think of JV. We're a community filled with younger members, we try to focus on that and cater to them. (which is why certain words are not okay on JV)
