This is a racing tournament. If it turns out well, and there is high demand for a deathmatch tournament, I may host one. For now, it's just racing.

Besides, I think most of the JV community dislikes that Platform Racing 3 has become a place to have deathmatches, so I doubt many people will participate, to be honest.

This is a racing tournament. If it turns out well, and there is high demand for a deathmatch tournament, I may host one. For now, it's just racing.

I think you should keep it as racing. I'm a newbie so I don't know much of the old-school races. I usually get the ideas from Bluesman.

- SHADOW TOURNAMENT -

I've noticed that a lot of the tournaments we have here in the Platform Racing 3 section of the forum aren't completed, or aren't made very well, and have a number of problems. This being the first tournament I'm hosting, it may have some problems of its own. However, I will do my best to keep the tournament running, and of the best quality.

So, if you plan to join the Shadow Tournament, in your post, clearly state that you would like the join the tournament. By signing up for the tournament, you agree to abide by all the rules. Feel free to ask any questions, and more information will be posted later.

The tournament will be played in one-on-one matches on popular and well-made races. The winner will advance to the next round, and the loser will not play any more matches. There is no back draw. Single elimination.

For each of the rounds, the two participants facing each other will schedule a time, and try and achieve the best time they possibly can on the scheduled race. The players will contact me via private message, and, included in your private message, you need to have a screenshot. For the sake of the tournament, please, do not fake screenshots.

There currently are no prizes, but if someone would like to volunteer to make some, you may.

If we are going to make our own times for the race, you can't really give the level name late enough to prevent practicing.
I think you should try to even out how much practice players have for a level. (I realize this may not be possible.) If you release it a long time before, both players should be able to get all the practice they want. However, I'm not really for a race where you lose just for making 1 or 2 mistakes, so I'd prefer less practice. (and levels that are not short)
If you want to keep the players from practicing as much as possible, you could have them agree on a time and then tell them the level just before that time. (This would require you to be online at the time of the races as well.) However, this would be an advantage if one of the players had played the level before but the other had not.

I was planning on having both players agree to a time, and then, depending on what the community wants, tell them which level they'll be competing on at a certain time. I could give them from a day to an hour, it all really depends on you guys.
