Making The Bus Monitor Cry

I don't usually like to make threads about news and stuff, but this felt I had to make a thread about this.

If you haven't already heard about this, I'll explain.

To sum the whole thing up, in a simple way, Karen Klein is an elderly bus monitor in New York. She happened to monitor a bus of middle-schoolers. You wouldn't believe the things that a group of these middle-schoolers said to her on the bus ride home from school. They verbally harassed her. A 10 minute video was posted up on facebook of the group of students drilling her with hatred. They called her names like a "fatass", calling her poor, ugly and much more to the point where she was actually crying, but did they stop there? Nope. Someone eventually put the video on youtube, and it has gone viral.

The names of the four students are revealed, along with their personal information. I won't post it here, but it's in the description of the youtube video. The school claims the students will face "disciplinary actions", whatever that may mean.

What do you think of this? How do you think these students should be punished?

I saw this article on Yahoo.

Those boys should get a Saturday detention for the rest of the time they attend that school. The punishment should be district-wide just in case they decide to change schools within the district.

Also, what the hell was the bus driver doing? He/she should've pulled over and made those kids walk to school.

This is just siiick. Even in NY?! Shit. I live in NY. But I'm pretty sure wherever this "Greece" town is, it sounds like a town that I don't even know, so there's a possibility I live far from it.

10 day holiday? They won't care about that. TBH the punishment they're probably getting from having their addresses given out on the internet is worse.

This sickens me, brings me to tears and shock. These kids' immorality and unkindness is horrible. I think the world would be a better place to live if people could actually get along, without insulting each other, hurting each other, if everyone helped each other out and gave support.

If, for instance, these kids thanked Mrs. Klein for her service, especially at such age as that. If they would stop attempting to be cool by being jerks to people without good cause, without even provocation. This is wrong. I think those kids could get a good 10 days in ISS (In school suspension) rather than OSS (Out of school suspension), to really punish them.

The only thing worse they may receive, at least based on my prior knowledge of public school reprimands, would be a referral for expulsion from the board of education... which would never pass in this case.

Wow, at my school kids do stuff like this to other kids but never to teachers or bus monitors. Not to their face, at least.
Why the hell didn't anybody step in? Seriously... it's an innocent old woman, what the **** could she have ever done to deserve that?

i sent her a message on facebook c:

i went to one of the kid's facebook profile and one of his statuses were "OMG what they talkin' about!? i wasn't even on that bus!!" or something like that. but i doubt it.
