It's not like it says "You may hit your child 10 times in a 5 minute period at full strength between the small of the back and crease of the knees."
Texas sounds like the UK in the 1950's, honestly.
anyway there is a specific law, in texas you can be hit with a paddle a maximum of 3 times, and belts are illegal.

I honestly do not know any kid that hasn't been beaten before and deserved it. I broke four of my brother's teeth before when I was little and I remember times where I cried for well over 4 hours from being reprimanded. It wasn't uncommon to feel pain when sitting for a few days afterwards either.

I know this is illegal in most of Europe(not the UK though), but is legal in every state in the US.
Oh dear, my child is violent, I know how to solve that; I'll violently abuse them so that it hurts for days.

    Raar!

It's funny because parents who are violent towards their kids are actually the ones teaching kids that violence is okay, and then they just keep violently punishing them because their kids are doing what they TAUGHT their kids to do, and it becomes one big violent cycle, when it could have easily been dealt with in another more effective way.

This post reminded me of Pokemon.

And this thread reminded me of the lengths of human stupidity.
Wow, you're kid can't catch a ball, big ****ing deal, ****, I can't kick a ball but my parents never sawed my legs off.
This sort of stuff aught to be illegal across the world, there is no situation in which violence is the answer.. Unless it's something to do with Wrestling and things.

Dayum, I can't kick a ball to save my life.
Yes, they might say; "You need to better up your co-ordination skills" or whatever but they wouldn't hit me.

Catch the ball or I'll beat you? This is some bad parenting here.

If you watch the whole thing they do something at the end. They probably wanted to film it as evidence.

That stuff happens all the time.
I mean, who records this sort of stuff?
I get the impression that there is just hundreds of people around the world that just walk around with cameras attached to their head.

Also, this is relevant to your post.

    Depends upon where you live.
I live within Texas, USA, and it's legal to beat your children.
Thankfully my parents are kind liberals.
