Thread: Pokémon Clone Glitch

    Default Pokémon Clone Glitch

This is a clone glitch for Pokémon Emerald that doesn't require Action Replay, Gameshark, or any other cheating device. All you need is Pokémon Emerald!
If you have Emerald, follow these steps, and you'll be making a fortune!

    1
Go to the Battle Tower in the Battle Frontier. (you must have beaten the Elite Four first)

    2
Go to the PC and deposit some Pokémon to make free space, then save the game.

    3
After you've saved the game, withdraw the Pokémon you want to clone. You can clone five Pokémon at a time if you made enough space in your party. WARNING: Do NOT replace another Pokémon position in the party! If you do that, the Pokémon will be lost! To make sure that you don't screw up, just choose WITHDRAW POKéMON in this step.

    4
When you've withdrawn the Pokémon you want to clone, go down and talk to the first lady on the left. Choose either Lv. 50 or Open Level, then Submit two random Pokémon. Then the lady will tell you this: Before entering a BATTLE ROOM, your progress must be saved. Is that okay? Choose Yes. Now the screen will freeze for two seconds. When the save screen comes up, turn off the game.

    5
Turn on the game and check your PC. If you did it correctly, you will now have the same Pokémon in your party and box!

Here's a video of someone doing the clone glitch. I suggest watching it so you don't screw up.

This clone glitch can be exploited in many ways to give you advantage. For example, you can use it to clone Rayquaza to beat the Elite Four, or you can make the Pokémon hold an item to clone the item too! You can clone Master Balls, Nuggets, Heart Scales, TMs, Sacred Ashes, and much, much more! You can also use it to supply your Pokémon DS games with items and Pokémon using Pal Park. I did that with my Heart Gold, and now I have 38 Master Balls and 30 Heart Scales.

The best thing about it is that it's not a cheat or code like Action Replay that could damage your game. This is simply a glitch that can do no harm. As long as you do it right and don't lose your Pokémon, you won't have a problem with it!

    You're welcome.

I abused the one in Diamond/Pearl. Now I've got two Giratinas, two Dialgas/Palkias. Pretty much two of every legendary you can catch.

The same is true for most all Pokemon Games, all seem to have a cloning exploit.
But to be frank, it does muck things up on occasion.
Back in the day when I was a young Pokemon enthusiast, someone in my class did this trick to get multiple Mews (Back in Pokemon Red/Blue) and ended up totally messing up his game, most of his Pokemon turned into undefined Pokemon (MissingNo and M), and the only Pokemon that would appear in wild battles were Mews.
    It was weird.

But I agree, it's much less damaging than a Gameshark or something, but it's not not cheating.

It can but the default cheats that are on it can't mess up your system, only your save.

Didn't quite understand that. Can you explain it in a different way?

Well, it can destroy your save file.
And I'm not trying to take credit. I just made this thread to help people.

It can actually, well, specifically the game and game cartridge.
Action Replay holds the actual cartridge in such a way that it can cause damage to the cartridge (the thin metal film on the slot-y bits of DS games) and over time it'll cause the game to go unrecognised by the DS.
Also, overuse of codes that alter certain elements of the game, such as.. Say, a no-clip glitch to let you walk anywhere, will cause terrain damage.
An example would be Pokemon Mystery Dungeons, someone I know used an Action Replay on it, and when I borrowed the game for a couple of weeks all friend areas in the game showed up as a plain black or white screen, so yeah, it can cause permanent damage to the game itself and cartridge.
In short, I don't condone cheating.

It can destroy your savefile but can't **** with the actual game, so you can always just start a new game.

My older brother cloned a bunch of mews in an older game and it would always give him multiple colorless pokemon

M is just another variant of MissingNo.
I think, don't quote me on this, it is believed to be some sort of bridge between Cubone and Kangaskan(?), but due to censorship (the whole Cubone dead Kangaskan skull incident) it was removed.
Again, don't quote me on this, I recall something like that..

The Action Replay where you put in the codes yourself screws up your game.
However if you buy one of the pre-coded ones it doesn't screw it up permanently.
Lets say you use a wall hack and the characters start running away into the walls to disappear. Then all you'd have to do is walk into a portal and it's fixed. The only way you can screw up your game "permanently" is if you'd use the wall hack and save in a wall and then break your action replay.
