I Am Me

I am pyrolysis
Blood pumping through my veins
Never-ending energy
Sweat running down my cheek
Not limiting me to a basic task
Flying like an Eagle
Coasting on the waves like a motorboat
Carrying me farther, and farther away…
From Reality.........

I am pyrite
My colors flowing endlessly
My radiance soars to ignition
The climactic moment comes
Now fire is circling me
I scream
A deathly and chilling scream
Unleash!
The walls crumble and fall
And I am the only being left

I am me.

... I'd like to share one, if anyone doesn't mind. I was inspired when I was aimlessly swinging alone on a swingset at night, at the playground near my house.

Swingset

Swing, swing,
Back and forth,
What is my life really worth?

Swing, swing,
Up and down,
The fragile chains keep me off the ground.

The tear in space -
It governs my life;
All they see
Are lies, lies, lies

The tailwind's turned
The other way;
I can't go high enough
On any day

Swing, swing,
Without aim,
When will the chains give way and break?

What it inspired me to do was not to write a poem about the swingset,
but to write one large metaphor for my life.
Although I can't say it's one of my best. cB>"

It will be funny that
it's real and only one
and there won't be better one
as long as you live.

reject the logical conclusion
that it must be something like
phantasm or dream.

Take Him serious
Like He taked You
When He was choosing
the Special Truck.

When I read the title 'epic poems' my immediate thought was 'beowulf', everyone in my school was shown films and documentaries about beowulf in english class, don't know if the rest of you had that.

okay, srs, here's some real poetry.

I recall the violin's trill
Soft and sharp
Like a feather on a heart.

I recall the fiddler's tune
Loud and small
Like hope's song to one's heart.

How my memories flood
To the flow of two
That recall to life
Of feelings once lost...

I recall the song bird
Light and smooth
Like ice cream to the eyes

I recall the light of day
It was one and all
Oh how it made me recall...

I let not the dark take hold of me
No, not at all
For if it does, I shall never recall--

--Trills long played--

--And songs long sung--

I wish to be the child
Not in innoncence
But rather in untold wisdom

I wish to be the child
For a child knows
What adults can never hold to mind...

As it was, and always will,
recall, but don't forget
Until the light takes you in.
