Maybe they're not eager to do it but they should learn to be more open about it anyways tbh

Not by default, but they should be available for those who ask / request them.

Children, yes, but teens who are at least 16 are legal, in my state at least.

Depends, every state/jurisdiction has its own age of consent laws and exceptions. For example, here in Texas the age of consent is 17 but two kids between 14 and 17 can have sex if it's consensual and they're both within that range.

Or in Canada, where the age of consent in 16, a 12 or 13 year old can consent to sexual activity with someone less than 2 years older than them, and a 14 or 15 year old can consent to sexual activity with someone less than five years older than them.

Here in Florida you can apparently be charged for having sex with a minor no matter your age. You will be registered as a pedophile.
That's what my science teacher and my civics teacher say, at least.

Why would that matter? They know it happens; ignoring it does no good. May as well protect the students than risk problems, no?

Mostly. An exception permits a person 23 years old or younger to engage in legal sexual activity with a minor aged 16 or 17 only.

Ohoho, I wander why you know Florida's child sex laws so well.

    Hehe.

I do hope people realized condoms ARE NOT 100% SAFE.
There is no 100% safe sex... We have STDs and Pregnancy.
Plus I doubt a public school can afford "acceptable"... Okay maybe "acceptable" to the lowest degree. You CAN buy condoms as a minor (or at least where I live) So there is no need to hand them out, just buy them when your ready ^.^

Of all the condoms taken, how many of them would be used for actual sex? I would be shocked if it was any more than 25% of them. In a country where education funding is falling through, resulting in lack of textbooks and quality teachers, the last thing we need is to add free condoms to our expenditure so that 10th graders at lunch can blow them up and throw them around the cafeteria.

A box of condoms costs a few bucks at 7-11.... go there and spend a buck or two to get the right size and kind you want with money from your own pocket for the person who need to use it for its purpose.

If 100% of the condoms distributed were used for actual sex, then I would support it... but until then my answer is no.

In the heat of the moment. When a boy and girl or boy and boy or girl and girl are feeling horny. And when they start making out and laying down on top of each other. If they do NOT have a condom at hand they will not use one. Simple as that

And honestly I do go under that assumption, and maybe it is something that's wrong for me to assume of everybody, but in my experience kids are already intimate at school and this is just middle school I'm talking about... I really cannot imagine what highschool is going to be like. ._.
It's not about responsibility, it's about opportunity- who has the maximum potential for distribution and education? Obviously the school.

    And if 98% were used?

Arbitrary bullshit ideas plucked out of the air. If only one in ten were used they will go on to prevent unwanted pregnancies and STI's, saving much much more money- if that's the angle you want to take- than the price of the latex they're fabricated from. It's a no brainer.

Antibiotics, medical diagnosis, abortions, child care, all of these amount to a far greater sum even if only a tiny tiny percentage of contraception available is used , not to mention the human benefits- which is rather the point from my perspective.

    Raar!

I suppose so. I guess I'm really just talking about an ideal... in reality I guess that using the school to do these types of things is much easier and more likely to happen.
