They finally created a drug which turns the person taking the drug into a zombie.

I had a feeling it was PCP because I know that does something to your nerves so your body doesn't feel pain.

Heyhey, guess what? You're just highlighting more irresponsible use, guys. PCP is a dissociative. The best I can compare it to is ketamine, but it's more "warm" - there's not really a way to describe it. It's wonderful when mixed with cannabis in a natural outdoors setting.

It's so unfortunate that people hear "PCP" and assume "batshit crazy freakout" because that simply isn't true. Sure, it happens. But it also doesn't, and quite often. There are many recreational users of PCP that know it is relatively safe and certainly doesn't have to cause such things as you see in YT videos. More dangerous and more likely to end up badly than acid? Yeah. But not completely bad, and I know from experience (both on myself and in trip-sitting others on it).

I have taken LSD many times in both large and small amounts, and never have I EVER had any feelings even remotely close to this. Normal people do not do this kind of thing. Do NOT blame the drug, regardless of which one he was on. Blame the person, not the harmless-if-used-correctly substance; for lysergic acid diethylamide is an amazing substance that should NOT have as bad a reputation as it does.
Okay thats just dumb. I don't think that anyone claimed that it was JUST the drug, but I don't think you can claim that whatever drug he was on had nothing to do with it, thats just silly.

Tons of people online are claiming it was just the drug, even news places. Even if a drug *did* cause some sort of odd reaction, it's the person's fault, not the drug.

Then again, I'm not sure why I'm really trying to educate the D.A.R.E. generation.

If the drug caused the reaction then it's the drugs fault for causing the problem and the persons fault for taking the drug.

If the drug encouraged the reaction (as it obviously did) then it is the drugs fault for encouraging the problem and the persons fault for taking the drug.

If the person was going to eat somebody's face anyway then the drug wasn't at any fault, but I really doubt that.

If the person did take substances the fault all lies on them for taking the substance and the cause is to be partitioned between the substance and predispositions in their person.

Currently it's neither known whether substance was involved or whether the person was predisposed to this form of behaviour, so it's pretty erroneous to comment on the matter and call it 'education'.

    Raar!

Responsible drug use doesn't make any normal person eat anyone's face off. The person, regardless of whether he was on drugs or not, was still using the drug irresponsibly; making it the person's fault, not the drug.

...except the media is claiming it's from "new strains of LSD." Clearly not related, but people are going to end up thinking it is.

No matter how you put it, it all boils down to the fact that the person using the drug is at fault. You shouldn't be subjecting yourself to powerful, biological, mind-altering drugs if you know you may go absolutely insane after use. And, since most people don't really know their limitations, I think it's a bad idea to be using any drug that powerful at any time.
