As an arachnophobic, I do not appreciate the volume of spider pictures in this thread

I actually do have a story.

There was an older woman my dad was doing a tile installation job for who was deathly afraid of spiders. She started screaming like mad because a large water spider was on her porch, my dad brought it home for us, big thing it was.

Anyways, she devolped this fear when she was very young. She told my dad that she was playing with a lead pipe, bent it towards herself, and it snaped. Inside of it was a nest of baby spiders, which upon the pipe breaking, flew into her face. Traumatized to this day.
