Actually it isn't nothing, you're trying to say that all the popular animes of the late 90's and beyond are rip-offs of Pokemon.
That isn't something you can just agree with cause it's 'only words and it's not gonna hurt you', tell you what it's hurting, all the fans, as well as the Pokemon fanbase because there is people like you giving them a bad name, accept that not everything rips off Pokemon, and then I'll drop it.

I got into the original pokemon series, digimon, hamtaro, but not much else. my brother got me into macross a bit when I was older, if that counts.

About this whole pokemon debate, i only think digimon was a rip off of pokemon.. they were in around the same era but iirc, pokemon came first.. either way, comparing bayblade to pokemon is a little more obscure.. all anime has tropes and cliches but idk

Pokemon came first in terms of gaming perhaps, but the Digimon anime came out in English when the Pokemon anime came out in Japan.
Essentially, the anime had a leg-up on Pokemon.
And the Digimon games/merchandise were certainly different from Pokemon, cause Pokemon was based off of the games we know and love, where as Digimon was based off of something entirely different, Digital Pets, and that's really apparent in the Digimon World game I mentioned.
I mean, I'm not trying to argue, but people need to face facts instead of fanboying/fangirling it up in here.
Only call something a rip-off if you can back it up, that's what I'm getting at, so far no one has backed it up.

Always have done ever since my account was messed up after the whole 'other user' bug that terrorised JV for a matter of hours (Must've turned into a user that used invisible mode, and that's why it remained like that).
Unfortunately, I have no idea how to change any of it.
But I suppose invisible mode has it's uses, though not very practical when you're trying to have conversations with someone and they think you've gone away.
Someone will probably tell me in time, but for now it's neither a help nor hindrance so I think I'll just let it be.
