"Wii U will be disappointing"

That's a quote from myself. I'm about to tell you the very reason why myself and you guys should not be excited about the Wii U and why I think it is a let down.

No DVD Player

Nintendo announced there will be no DVD Player. This is a huge letdown. Even the PS2 can play DVDS. So can the Xbox. Nintendo is 3 generations behind. To me that is a huge letdown and another reason just to not buy it at all. Sorry Nintendo.

Can not play GameCube

If Nintendo's reasoning for this is "it's 2 generations behind" then I'm not going to be very happy. Even PS3 can play PS1 Games. And besides, if you are like me who goes from GameCube, to Wii, then to Wii U I still have GameCube games that need played. Of course the Wii U will play Wii games. But so does the Wii itself. So the Wii U is not proving itself any better.

No normal controller

Assuming everybody has seen the new controller, it is obviously not traditional like the PS or Xbox controllers are. Playing games on that thing is going to be impossible. And with no GameCube compatibility for the controller it is going to be really hard playing games with either the tablet, or the Wii remote.

It's not original

The name Wii U? Seriously? Just add a "U" at the end, fancy controller, and HD and you are almost at the same level as Xbox 360. And it looks a lot similar to the Wii also. Kind of like DS to 3DS. Nintendo is running out of ideas.

Well once Wii U is released the new ps3 and xbox will come out shortly. Wii is behind and they need to do something to get bigger again. They are a falling dynasty in my mind.

I mean, it's not like it's the cheapest way to play non-shitty versions of games (why do PS2 versions of multiplatform games always suck?) or anything.

And it's not like the Gamecube controller is generally better at everything except SNES Virtual Console games than the classic controller.

And it's definitely not the second best (not counting the Japanese controller for the Xbox which later became standard for everywhere) controller of its generation.

Sure, it's unoriginal, but what about PS3? It's just a "3" at the end. Same with the PS2. And the Xbox 360. And the DSi. As you can tell, all these systems have their named based of variations of previous consoles.

Oh no! These days, people have Xbox's, PS3's, BluRays, Computers, and all sorts of gadgets. If you don't have something else that can run a DVD, maybe buy one of those instead eh?

i stopped liking the wii when they came up with the name "Wii" .. the original name was supposed to be "Nintendo Revolution". Theres also no good games for it, so theres that.

I disagree. There are several great games such as SSBB and Mario Kart. I haven't played any of the other Zelda or Mario games, so I can't say they were great, but I'm pretty sure others who have played them would say so.

Also, the reason why Revolution wasn't chosen as the name was because not a lot of people who spoke a language other than English could pronounce the word.

I wouldn't get it anyway; not enough really good games. The Wii (and hence the Wii U) are not exactly serious gaming machines.

I disagree. There are several great games such as SSBB and Mario Kart. I haven't played any of the other Zelda or Mario games, so I can't say they were great, but I'm pretty sure others who have played them would say so.

i never could get into zelda games, and mario was only fun when it was on the NES and SNES.. i played some mario cart 64, but that was 'ok' at best... im not a fan of the fact that it went 3D.. same goes for pokemon.. i hate when classics go 3D.

Mario Kart is ok, and I've heard that Zelda is great.
