In my experience, Opera is a terrible browser that should go die in a fire.

Firefox takes about 10 seconds to load JV. Compare that to Opera, which takes about 2 minutes. Same computer, same connection, just a good browser compared to a shitty one.

I always use IE8 as a browser in my computer. I just use no additional features -- heck, I don't even keep favorites! So yeah, the simplicity and lack of added features is actually appealing to me.
As for it being slow, that's bullshit. The conection latency is several times higher than any internal processing time, so that's just impossible, unless you use caches and so on -- but I'd rather keep my pages uncached.
As for the compatibility... IE8 is compatible with all standards. The problems arise when pages aren't fully compliant, and use stuff that only works in Firerox and/or Chrome. But that's on the web designers, not on the browser.

Anyway, are you going for lowest common denominator or something? Yes, Firefox/Chrome/other browsers have stuff IE doesn't, but that's because they've implemented more of the standard stuff than IE has, not because it's all browser-specific stuff (although all browsers do have that, to some extant.)

Hmmm...something's wrong there then. For me chrome and firefox both take several times longer to load a page.
