Well I know cause my friend is a moderator I've been her friend before she was a temp mod so I should know. So she said "Just be nice in the chat and help out." I think that's pretty much all cause that's what I do and I usually as the mods if my chat behavior is good and they always say "Yes" "Yes" "Yes" xD I know. But then what Inu said she accually became a moderator and what she told me that can possible make me a temp/mod some day too! But you should take thease tips as a things to do. Be nice in chat, help out people, be nice, tell people not to spam not every seccond like don't be a suck-up, M-A-G-I-C = Mods are good in chat. See that? M-A-G-I-C is REALLY helpful you could even be temped if you follow that, but if someone says "How do you be mod?" say M-A-G-I-C mods are good in chat, and I'm sure you will be temped someday! I know I'm not a mod, and never been temped before but if you follow those rules you will be promoted some day. Remember! Temp comes before permanant moderator.

Being a person who's been temped 67 times I know this

A lot of us have known most the mods before they were modded...

Half the stuff you said all of us already know, there have been so many threads like this it starts to get really annoying. Just because you know a mod doesn't mean your the only one who knows all this stuff :S All the current mods and admins I've known before they got modded :S

Zach, you're basically saying that because you know a moderator you know how to become a mod, which is completely wrong. Seriously I don't know how having conversations with mods makes you an all knowing being.

There's not really any secret, just be community focused and don't spam in chat.

Moderators are also mature, you shouldn't be bragging about a friend becoming a moderator and then using that to pretend you're the authority on moderators. It's likely to annoy people rather than being helpful. Also there's some stickied threads in PR2 that gives information about it.
