If you were optimist and you said 'No one's strange, they're just different'
Would you consider an idiot a human that has very different intelligences

I'd consider an idiot someone who disagrees with everything you say, regardless if it's correct or not.

An idiot, dolt, or dullard is a mentally deficient person, or someone who acts in a self-defeating or significantly counterproductive way. Archaically the word mome has also been used. The similar terms moron, imbecile, and cretin have all gained specialized meanings in modern times. An idiot is said to be idiotic, and to suffer from idiocy. A dunce is an idiot who is specifically incapable of learning. An idiot differs from a fool (who is unwise) and an ignoramus (who is uneducated/an ignorant), neither of which refers to someone with low intelligence.
Thought this would be one of those nuby threads, and that somebody would have made a joked about how the creator was one..
And, no, I do not consider humans, idiots.

The word "idiot" is an offensive term, therefore if someone is an idiot falls down to opinion.
The term 'idiot' is used to describe a certain level of intelligence... so yes idiots do exist.
An idiot to me is an ignorant know-it-all.
And yes that makes no sense.

Yes, I do think there are idiots. I mean, usually people with very low intelligence. Like I remember once in 6th grade, there was this REALLY stupid girl who had trouble multiplying 8 by 3, 4, 5, and so on. It was the end of the year. It was an advanced class, too.

I don't think that's idiotic...maybe she just has problems with multiplying 8. I have a friend who has trouble telling left from right, and he's a genius. She has to be somewhat smart, since she's in an advanced class. Maybe it's just the way her brain works. I personally have trouble with reading out loud; I stutter so bad it makes no sense, but I can still read.
Well, unless she is just truly stupid, which isn't uncommon these days.

It's a part of life that people of low intelligence exist, those are the idiots. :c
Although there are some rare cases called savants when a mentally handicapped person is remarkably intelligent in some way; such as perfect pitch, calculator brain, etc.
But that is quite rare.

I use the word idiot much more loosely than it's definition says I should. I generally consider an idiot someone who has no idea what he/she is talking about but still thinks he/she has any authority on the subject. The kind of people who deny all of the facts and give completely irrelevant responses to your arguments.
It connects with Darke's definition, but there are some subtle differences.
