So many accounts are being stolen these days, I thought I'd make this thread. It's all about things you should note when your account is stolen! (And some extras!!) We'll start with a little discussion about password scammers.
What is a password scammer? Someone who tries to steal your account by convincing you to give up the password. Here's a few examples of what one may P.M. you.:
"Hey, give me your password and I'll rank you up!"
"Give me your password and I'll fold you a crown/cowboy!"
"Do you want to swap accounts? Give me your password and I'll give you mine."
"Please give me your password!" -Classic scam.
If someone does send you a P.M. like that, the best thing you can do is report it.
Now for what you can do to get your account back!
(The following tips may not work, so don't blame me if they don't.)
1.: Ask politely for your account back. If this does not work, go to step 2.
2.: Tell them if they give you your account back, you will fold their main account a crown/cowboy hat. (It is likely this may not work, but as it happens, it worked fine for me.)
Now, for what NOT, I repeat NOT to do.
1.: Ask a moderator to ban the account-stealer. If they get banned, you'll have no way of contacting him.
2.: Call the account-stealer rude names and such. Then it's quite likely you'll never get the account back. (But what you might get is a warning.)
That's about all I can think of. Feel free to post suggestions!
