Do you wake up when you die in your dream?

Well, to escape your dreams (esp. if it's a nightmare) and come back to reality, one of the fastest ways to do this is to die in your dream.

I've purposely killed myself a few times just to wake up (jump in a pit of lava) but I'm not sure if this happens to everyone who dreams.

I sometimes wake up from my dreams if I work out it's a dream, I slide out instantaneously and if I'm scared I wake up.

Once i died in my dream and i couldn't move at all, it's like I was still in my body but I could do anything.

OP's example doesn't fit me very well, since I never get to realize I'm dreaming. When I do, I wake up.
Also, am I the only person that never had a dream I was "falling"? Really.

I wouldn't know, I don't dream very clearly or often at all. I have only achieved lucidity once for about ten seconds before waking up.

Yeah. I have these dreams where i take the form of a cartoon character, use some weird method of transportation, and always die by falling off a cliff at the end.
One time i was Ash Ketchum on one of these things , another time i was Aang on his glider, and the most recent time i was Winnie the Pooh in a Lexus.

Oh yeah, in summer 2009 I was 11 and I broke my arm then when I went to sleep I dreamed I fell of from a bike and I **** myself and thought it was real.
