Do you wake up when you die in your dream?
Well, to escape your dreams (esp. if it's a nightmare) and come back to reality, one of the fastest ways to do this is to die in your dream.
I've purposely killed myself a few times just to wake up (jump in a pit of lava) but I'm not sure if this happens to everyone who dreams.
So, does it blend, that is th-

No, but whenever I have a dream I'm falling I wake up just before I hit the ground all freaked out and my hearts pumping
Human response mechanism, back when we were sleeping in trees we'd fall out and get injured so we evolved to wake up and feel like we are falling and therefore save ourselves. Even though we no longer live in trees this still happens because there's not enough reason to 'unevolve' it again.Originally Posted by Akann
Nope, I usually just wake up in the middle of a dream and therefore never get to know how it ended. No triggers or anything involved, it's completely spontaneous. You could say I'm fairly immortal in my dreams.
Somehow this doesn't trouble me at all. I sometimes have dreams in which I make jumps from 30 meters up without hurting myself.
I once dreamed that Igot sniped in the head it felted so bad...
But I hacked and went to real life yeah you mad mother****er sniper noob! >=D

I sometimes wake up from my dreams if I work out it's a dream, I slide out instantaneously and if I'm scared I wake up.

Once i died in my dream and i couldn't move at all, it's like I was still in my body but I could do anything.

Oh yeah, in summer 2009 I was 11 and I broke my arm then when I went to sleep I dreamed I fell of from a bike and I **** myself and thought it was real.That happened to me before

OP's example doesn't fit me very well, since I never get to realize I'm dreaming. When I do, I wake up.
Also, am I the only person that never had a dream I was "falling"? Really.
I don't die in my dreams. I haven't had one for a long time, speaking of dreams. :3
I wouldn't know, I don't dream very clearly or often at all. I have only achieved lucidity once for about ten seconds before waking up.
I envy those who have control over their dreams.
Yeah. I have these dreams where i take the form of a cartoon character, use some weird method of transportation, and always die by falling off a cliff at the end.
One time i was Ash Ketchum on one of these things, another time i was Aang on his glider, and the most recent time i was Winnie the Pooh in a Lexus.
I already regret it.
