Why a reset? And yes a world can randomly generate forever and ever.
Plus, after the griefers, Nick moved the spawn like 50,000 M away, so its like a fresh new start.

No the old spawn was at around 0,0 and the new spawn is at around 26k,26k but you were close.
And the world isnt "forever" once you get to the place called "The Far Lands" the generations starts getting buggy and your gameplay will get slower and you might even crash, thats the edge of minecraft, but its is reeeaallly far away i think someone said it would take you over 800 hours to get there if you walked in a straight line.
I once read that place is on +/-33mil on any axis.

that's because no one's computer is advanced enough to generate infinite chunks.
Its not due to that, its a combination of other factors, such as limits on how long certain variables can be, and things that add up over time, such as rounding errors. Because of how minecraft calculates things like player speed, rounding errors go up exponentially when you get really far away from spawn.
