Supposedly. Considering they made a remake Red/Blue in Gen III, and a remake of Gold/Silver in Gen IV, we can assume that there will be a remake of Ruby/Sapphire in Gen V.
Emerald hands down.
It's gonna take a while for the enhanced remakes since the next couple of Pokemon games will be spinoffs.
Plus there's also the third game that correlates with Black/White, which will feature Kyurem.
Red was awesome.
Glitchy, but awesome.

Toss up between 1st and 2nd gen, after that they kind of hit a ceiling.
I very much enjoyed a certain spin-off though, Mystery Dungeons.
Both generations of that were amazing.

Gen V is supposed to end with Black/White, can't wait to play PokéMon AquaSapphire on 3DS.
