As in a whole new style of gameplay using the famous mascots. Think of Super Smash Bros. for the N64. It was a new series, but uses barely any new characters.

Platformers never go wrong. How about having different characters from different Nintendo series' join up in a platformer.
Each character would play like they would in their original games.

Hmm, I've never heard of this game before... it looks cool. But from past experiences, I know Nintendo isn't so good at making some kinds of games. This problem occurs when Nintendo tries to be like other companies, in my opinion. But perhaps it is a great game, and I should consider getting it off Ebay (Seeing as it will most likely not be sold at the local video game store any more).

They should totally make a new series, with new characters and everything. They should still make some Marios and Legend of Zeldas, but they should get some new idea that's unlike anything else, that would be epic.
