Let's for a second admit that you had to make a demonstration of power. Of course you didn't need to do that, of course you could have just ignored the posts (and reported them if they were flaming); but let's just pretend for a second that you really needed to show that you had the power to do that.

Because reporting doesn't do anything. Mods don't listen to my PMs or reports, or VMs.
And everybody can see the delete button, even if you aren't the owner of the group.
