Next week is homecoming and we are going to have a great half-time show. I can't wait. The only bad thing is that it is kinda difficult to carry a drum around.
We are playing 5 different songs, some of them sound awesome, some aren't the greatest. I'll try to get a copy of the video to post it here after its over.
    WICKED is good

Yeah I play the trombone. Even though I'm not all that great with rhythms, I can blast loud enough the whole football field can hear me.

    Low Brass ftw.

Well, last night was my contest.

We got third in Prelims, and so we went onto finals, which was comprised of the top ten bands.

In finals, we got fifth, we were so bummed out.

We've assumed it is rigged to a point though, we were looking at every year's winners, and every year for the past decade or so, the same band has won first, with one hundred points over the other bands in finals, despite when we were in prelims, there was a ten point difference between our band (third) and the top band. In finals the top band had 100 points over the second.

There was an area judge beside out director when the final results were announced, and he said they judged us and some other bands wrong, and then he said some things not suitable for this forum.

There was a rumor circling around that there has been a judge switch within the Wind Judges, who could give or take the most points, and word is that he hated our band (Sherman, Texas).

Despite that, our percussion section got a perfect score, and got top percussion score, and so they got a trophy.

    That's all, no video, sorry.
I have a contest next saturday too, I hope we do better there.

Not in a marching band, but I'm in or have been in a few community bands, a symphonic band, and several small jazz and classical groups (one is a paying job). Here is the clarinet I use...

This is what I played in our band. Don't play in the band anymore... Guess I got bored.

Nice. Wish I owned my own instruments, I'm stuck with the school's; my family can't afford them.

Yeah, we have two baritone saxophones in out marching band, they are decent players.

    Wish I was.

Uhm, do you mean a neck strap, because I'm pretty sure all Saxophones march with that.

Well I'm back for this weekend barely.
Last night we had an away game, and we did okay.
We only get videos for home games, so I don't have one.
I got back at 1:30 this morning.

In less than an hour I have to go get ready for my first contest.
It is located at the Midlothian, wherever that is.
But before we have a rehearsal, the Baritone and Euphonium section (The Euphonium section consists of my section leader and the only sophomore we have, and the rest of us in the section are Baritones.) are going to polish our instruments to make them look better. It's rather funny because our instruments already look better than the other band's. They have Bronze made ones, some rather old, and then a couple of schools have concert euphoniums they have their players march, they look nice though, because most of them are silver. I don't like the bronze color too much on brass instruments, I prefer silver. Not exactly sure why though, I guess because they are just better material made in most conditions.
No, I mean a harness. Kinda like a drumline harness, but made for the baritone sax.

Oh, I dunno. Every saxophone player in my band use neck straps, not harnesses. I guess it depends if you want to hold it with your hands and neck, or whole body.

Not this one... I mean, ofcourse it was fun, it's just that almost everyone in it was old, and not very good. Not to mention the conductor plays up beat songs too slow. Besides, I enjoy playing in our jazz band more the community band.

    Oh I see.

So long my brothers and sisters, off to another week of school.

I shall be back when the music of Jiggmin summons me (Possibly early Saturday morning, or Sunday morning.).

Ah. I prefer to put my hair in a ponytail, then wear a bandanna (WHich I do when I don't feel like straightening my hair.) But they won't allow that.

    Lol.

You should see this one guy at me school, he's the guy who dates girls to have sex (He actually does, despite being a freshman.), and has scored too. He slicks his hair back lol.

As you see, I am here, for a few hours, I am sick with strep, therefore I do not have to be at school.

Here is our video from finals at the contest. Like I mentioned, the judges were screwing around with their recording equipment, and so we had to wait for like a minute on the ground.

Lol, something amusing about the pit at my school:

The slogan we've developed this year is "At least we don't blow"
    lol
