I have distinctly noticed, particularly recently, that a lot of members, and especially mods, have "1" at the beginning of their username and "64" at the end. Now, you can't just change your JV username every now and then, can you? I'm new, you see, and just settling in. Sorry if this thread is a waste of time, but I'm dying to know if there was an original inspiration for that "1" "64". Was it 1python64? I dunno. Please reply.

Yes, 1python64 started it. And you can change your username every month once you have 200 posts. (Unless you're infracted, I think. Not certain about that though.)

Yes, a corrupt mod with 3 numbers in his name related to a snake started it.

Ben threaded about it and said it was 'officially cool' to have 164 in your name. This would fit better as a blog, though.

You can both change your custom user title and your name as many times as you want, but you can't change name back to your original name.

I can't see how this is ontopic here... but, in order to make a thread, use the green button that appears on top of the thread list on any forum.
This one (the one I marked with a red circle):



Keep in mind that button will start a thread on the forum you're currently in, so choose the forum before making the thread. For example, if it's a PR2 related thread, post it in the PR2 forum; however, if it's a general discussion thread, post it in Discussion Hall.
