Basically, if you cover your thumb with your fingers, and squeeze hard, it will shut off your gag reflexes. Well... Not quite. It's just diverting your mind from gagging to paying attention on your thumb. This means that if you're eating/drinking something disgusting, then you wont want to vomit as soon as it passes through your mouth. You can also stick your fingers down your throat, and you wont be tempted to gag!
