Hi there, PR2 players.![]()
I've been getting quite a few PMs lately asking me if/what they can do to help me in the chat/game. I figured I'd clear this up with a handy little thread for everyone.
What can you, as a PR2 member do, to help the chat/game?
-First off... while many players seem to think that this could lead to being temped, that is not why you should help the chat. You should never log onto PR2 with the mindset "I NEED to get temped and/or become a mod today!" When the admins in PR2 choose players to temp, they look for exactly the opposite kind of person. They're looking for someone who's helpful and kind in the chat, but also for all the right reasons.
-We all know that spamming/flooding/cussing/nuking are big problems in the PR2 chats. However, there are things you can do to stop this. The first thing you can do, is encourage them to stop. Not in "stoppit now noob!" kind of way, but by sort of changing the subject or asking them if they want to race. Sometimes it's as easy as bringing up the topic of "Who has an Xbox 360?"
However, you wont always be able to reason with them. When they start cussing at you or continue to spam/flood/nuke, then feel free to call a mod. You can VM a PR2 Staff Member or you can try PR2Modfriend, to see if any mods are on Kongregate.
Just remember, there wont always be a PR2 mod or admin online. If there are none, put that "ignore" feature to good use. Even if you ignore them temporarily, it makes for a much more pleasant chat.
-Something else that really helps us... reporting. Reporting inappropriate PMs with the little yellow icon is definitely a huge help, as is catching and reporting hackers.
Just remember, these are the best ways you can help us out in PR2.
By exercising and encouraging self-moderation like the mute/ignore feature, you can make PR2 a better place. Isn't that rewarding? ;D
