In response to your earlier question: would I rather live my life thinking there was a spirital domain beyond? Obviously not- otherwise I would. I'm a scientific person, and without evidence to support such beliefs, I would view them as deluded. I prize my mind and the pursuit of truth over false reassurances. Who knows- maybe I am wrong and there is an afterlife, I won't exactly complain now, will I? But I'm definitely not going to squander the life I have now in desperate acts of piety in attempt to gain entrance to that hypothetical afterlife.
