    seriously, do you believe that?
No, I don't understand that, it was probably a coincidence, god has much more important prayers to fulfill.

I believe in a giant teapot orbiting the sun with a duck that gracefully dances inside creating life and worlds, keeping the balence of life and death at a steady rate. Not God.

Well that was my point, god wouldn't be answering such mundane prayers even if he did exist so using them in arguments is pointless

He's not just going to solve every world problem there is, it's man's choice like I said.

God does fulfill prayers, I've seen convincing stuff where God heals the handicapped or the deaf when they pray to him.

    Quadruple 3 Post!

I've seen a lot of examples where people pray and then they die. I've also seen frauds.

I've never heard of that happening, and if it's true I don't know why it happens.

I wish there was more Christians on this forum so they could back me up here.

I've also seen people pray to the gods of OTHER religions and claim they have been healed.

It's hard to know what to believe... I'm starting to have some doubts.

I'm just saying that if you want to be healed then you should have medicine.
Most of the time people who claim to have been 'healed' have been taking medicine at the time, they thank god but don't thank the doctors.

I want to believe there is one but there is no real proof for it

my beliefs gave greatly changed over the years, growing up in a community where 90% of my neighborhood are members of the LDS faith, with parents etching their beliefs into my brain. I have really tried to take a step back, be open minded, and really think things through for myself.

Everybody wants to believe in a god or a higher power, because otherwise they cant rationalize anything they do in their lives. They need a motive or goal to work toward that doesn't end with them dying and not mattering anymore. There is no evidence of a god, there is no evidence against a god. If god wanted us to get baptized and be a part of his church, or else.(like most christian churches believe) then he would make sure of it. That plan makes no sense at all.

At this point, i can't rationalize it any way I look at it. If there is a god, he expects me to be the best person I can be, and that will be enough for him. If there isn't one, then I did my best, and that is all that matters. We are all stuck on this world together, lets just try to put aside our differences and try to be the best us we can be. If we all do that, it doesn't matter if there is a god, it doesn't matter if we got baptized, or went to a church, or prayed 5 times a day facing the dome of the rock. When it is all said and done, god wouldn't care about those things, just that we did good in the world.

If you are a christian, you'd be one of the most reasonable ones I've ever met.

There's things in there I'd point out that may be slightly different, but eh.

You sound like you have nearly exactly my line of thinking. I agree 100%.

Because they deserve help more then you deserve to find your lost things.
So basically, your all loving god gave you the choice to not give a **** about the people in need.

If so, your god is not all loving but rather a douchebag.
    Coincidence.

God doesn't exist. There is no evidence to prove that he does exist. Fact is, there's tons of evidence to justify how God doesn't exist.

    Happened to find this:
Mark 13:32: ""No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

Apparently God the Son doesn't know everything.

Sometimes the Bible is hard to understand. Only God the Father knows. Not Jesus. They are different...
