Some christians tried to prove it did, by monitoring the survival rate and duration of hospital patients, who either had or had not been prayed for.

The results were astounding: people who were prayed for had much shorter stays in hospital and much better survival rates.

Later it was discovered the patients were in hospital in 1996, and the prayers were said in 2010., [I think you see what they did there]

The response from the christians was 'Our god doesn't work in linear time,'.

Of course, blackie has already posted an adaquate explanation for this: apparantly it's abusing your relationship with god to ask for food when you're starving, even though god gave food to people who prayed numerous times in the bible.

What i mean is, you cannot pray for something and expect an ostrich to drop it off in a basket at your front door.
You have to work in harmony with your prayer.
You may have prayed to end world hunger but, have you tried helping to end it?
Prayers are prayers not wishes.

So is it actually my fault that world hunger hasn't ended because I didn't pray right? ;^;

Isn't it mysterious that prayers are only 'answered' when you actually get off our ass and do it yourself? That prayers for sick people only work when doctors are around? It's exactly like praying doesn't change the situation at all. ;3

I pray for a car.
If I get a car then the prayer worked!
If I don't get a car then I didn't do it right or I didn't ask for the right reasons!
If I get a car 30 years later then it was because I was patient!


Ok, that's every single eventuality covered. Whatever could possibly happen, you could claim the prayer worked.
Or maybe the prayer didn't do anything at all :|

Because all the experiments where praying helps are faked, and if praying really worked why would they need to fake their results to make it look like praying helped?

The reality is praying is just as good as doing nothing, or saying 'I wish', because it's exactly that, there's no physical mechanism by which it makes a difference, which is why no difference is observable.

Because people who DON'T pray do just as well in life as people who do. Also religious countries like Africa aren't doing that great.

Praying makes no difference to this outcome because it's no different to hoping or wishing for your situation to improve.
