Burning your hand is a dangerous idea. .-. I've done this in chemistry before, but with the supervision of experts. They used a flammable gas, it might have been hydrogen, bubbled through washing up liquid to create flammable foam. It burnt up in less than 1 second anyway.

Ethanol, although it's volatile and anything flaming is probably rather warm.
