PPG was made by Craig McCracken, the guy who made Foster's.
MLP:FiM was made and directed by Lauren Faust, Craig's wife.

And the rest: How the hell is PPG (with little to no blood violence) like MLP? MLP is a bunch of ponies that have been blown out of proportion, and PPG is a fairly popularized show about three girls who were made by a paedophilic proffessor.
