about 3 years old. my little computer babby c:

From the sounds of it, some part of the internals may have shorted out. That's what happened to my old PC"s. (Both made by HP). The first was a power serge in which a spark and smoke came out.
My second HP killed it self after something shorted out (some power thing)

Maybe have someone look at it?

Okay, I actually got back on my computer now. I was checking EVERYTHING to make sure it was okay. Apparently the fan needed a good dusting so I did that... while I was writing some of these messages, but everything else appears to be fine, so I guess it did overheat and just needed time to cool down. It's incredibly strange that it overheated though, I've only had it on for a couple of hours and it's never done this to me before, even after weeks of staying on.

well, parts deteriorate over time. But that's good to know c:

Tough Luck. Maybe you could get another computer and be on JV again.

yeah, overheating happens sometimes. all you can do is clear out any dust and maybe buy a bigger fan.

You got some of the JV trojans a week back right?
Maybe one of them shut down your fan.

Or maybe it's just a short circuit/ overheat.

I am not that careless, I was on JV, but I did not get any trojans.
