There are loads of words spelt differently to how they sound.
Differently for an example; we pronounce it difrently.

You can pronounce it phonetically if you want, that's what Dexter from Dexter's Lab does.

In the UK it's more 'Laboratry', we drop the second o rather than the first.
But it's just a contraction anyway.

There are many words pronounced differently from how they are spelled. One of those words is "Light."

Don't know what you're on about, God, I pronounce that word exactly as it is spelled.

Google even said it was pronounced Labretory. I like saying Laboratory. Makes me sound smart.

In certain countries, "light" is pronounced laɪt. In just about every other country in the world, it is pronounced "Lig hut," with an extremely subtle 'u.'

For some strange reason, the "right" way to pronounce it is laɪt, but I don't understand how.

I've never came across myself saying u in light.

You can't make the transition from the 'h' to the 't' without a small vowel, and I figured it would be a 'u.'

I am confusing. I even confuse myself sometimes. A perfect example being that in the Bible, I sanction selling your daughter as a slave. I wonder what was going through my mind... But my Word has to be everlasting and never-changing, so I can't change it.
