Groups of vigilanties/organised militias have been threatening parents in northern ireland to take their children to be shot in the legs, for accusations of antisocial behaviour.

That's what organised militias are; not a romantic notion of freedom, it's scare-mongering and irrepairable violence.

List of people who should be shot:
-Fascist thugs
-Religious fundamentalists
-People who write lists telling you who should be shot

I may have read the article incorrectly, but I thought they were shooting drug dealers. The group is RAAD, Republic Action Against Drugs. They're not out to shoot the drug-addicts, but the dealers themselves. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I didn't say they were shooting drug addicts. They are indeed shooting people who they have accused [and not necessarily proven] are drug dealers, in a sadistic fashion.

I didn't say you said that they were shooting drug addicts, I was just posting relevant information, and if I misunderstood, or was wrong completely, you could have corrected me. :3 But in the article, it said that the communities RAAD operates, the people don't trust the police. I also read that citizens are afraid of the members of RAAD. Are the people that fear RAAD and do not trust the police the same citizens?

    Oh okay.

    Here's how it is:
-The police are, I think, often a symbol of british colonialism. [which caused all this in the first place] so not everyoen trusts them.

-RAAD are seen as a group of vindictive weaponised thugs, but nobody has the power to stand up to them and are afriad going to the police will mean RAAD will punish them.

So I think there's prolly an overlap of some size.

I think you misunderstood what I misunderstand, if that makes any sense. I was wondering if the community which does not trust the police, is the same one which fears RAAD. Judging from your post, though, I'm certain it is the same one.
