If you registered on a forum and it asked for your home phone number and address what is your likely response?

Personally I'd find it suspicious, because I'm acustomed to companies that want to spam or sell me things asking for personal details.

    I'd ask why. If it was a valid reason, and I really wanted to join, I'd give it out.

    I wouldn't give them out on the basis that forum security is very light and dedicated hackers could easily sell the information to the underworld.

    lol no, i'd lie.

    1) It's not like forums NEED this information, to give you an account. So, this would be weird to ask, unless you want people to stalk you

    2) Also, I'd like my location to be covert.
