This is not for the people who are easily upset. Unless you like a challenge.

I do appreciate if you read it though.
SO, i presume that most of us are familliar with the phrase, life is like a box of chocolates, right?
It's a saying popularised by the film forrest gump, one that I, myself, have never watched due to... flying spaceships. The original quote from the film says something along the line of:
WRONG! Esepcially if you buy a box of your preffered chocolates, like how I preffer truffles from Wallmart/Asda. OHMEHGOD SO omnononolicious!Originally Posted by Forest Gump
But lets say, just for this example, it is one of these variety boxes that you buy for a price of $10... life really can be compared to that variety box of chocolates.
Youth!
When you're young and you get a piece of chocolate, you're all "oh boy, chocolate" and you don't actually know where they came from, nor how much they cost or anything. Nor are you aware that there are pictures at the top stating what each one consists of. You just keep taking a chocolate at random.
Similarly, when you're young, you have no idea how life works and you explore life. Life just comes to you and people take care of you, and you don't actually know how you get everything.
Growing up!
You've realised the diagram saying what chocolate has which flavour, the pictures, the words... MIRACLE! You don't have to eat the one your aunt Niamh loves but you hate due to that cinnamon twist! You also learn that there are times that you're allowed, and you're not allowed any chocolate after 5pm so you don't get all hyped before bed!
Likewise irl, you begin to see friends and what you enjoy in life. You avoid the people you don't like and the situations that make you uncomfoterable, like having to go to Aunt Niamhs house every Thursday night, god that women needs children of her own. And all your entertainment for one day is restricted!
Adults, money and responsability.
Oh look, you've become what you've always wanted and you'd do anything to be young again! Don't you just f***ing love life? More importantly, don't you just taht box of chocolates you've been eating since you were 4? What you must love of all is still avoiding that cinnamon chocolate that they still place in the variety chocolate after 21 good years! So, after paying a good $15 for that box of chocolate, it's a waste to not eat that chocolate you've been avoiding for years! So you taste it, and hey, it's not that bad! Everytime you slip $15 from that bow, you begin to not notice your hate for it. A bit more hate slips every time.
Within the adult life, you have to get by that bullpoop thing you've been getting everyday, like your parents arguing over every tiiny thing like who Deal or No Deal is played, or maybe it's your neighbours who argue as such. Whatever the case, by the time you grow up, you've neautralised to it, your care for the issue, it's gone. You don't wanna call for domestic abuse or want to stop anything anymore, just "meh", something you get from life and there's nothing you can do to help it.
Accomodation and change.
New flavour announced... yet again. I wonder if this one will be tempermental like the last, or will hang on forever like that newie biscuit one? Either way, you're gonna have to try it. If you love/like it, cool, enjoy the rest of the new batches! If you don't, cool, enjoy the rest of the new batches! I think you can see the point ,that you have to live with it either way. In addition to this, an old chocolate has been taken out... and it's not the cinammon one :c And they won't do anything about the new choco unless large amount of people say they love it, or they don't.
Life: HEY LOOK, SOMETHING NEW! Oh boy! It replaced something old, and that old is now just part of your many "remember when" tales. If you love that new thing, you're not exactly about to complain, are you? Nor are you just about to go up to whoever's responsiable and shout at the top your lungs, "YOU'VE MADE A GREAT CHOICE!" Even if you do, you're probably gonna stand alone in your awkward outburst, so who will actually remember "that guy" too much. You live alongside it and you smile. Now here is where something plays out, you either are lucky and get to keep that by your life for a while, or due to nothing being said, people assume it's bad or there is some kind of issue, finacial, health, and it goes. If you don't like it, well, who on this bloody earth is going to care? Well, besides your friends... on the surface. And if there isn't a large group of you going against the change... really, you're just a hydrogen atom to the size of earth, and guess what? Boy do you miss that old tihng it replaced!
Life experience.
You know those times when your chocolate is new, it's been kept in the right condition so it has its natrual form? It's brillant to buy it new off the shelf and NoM at it straight away! But what about when you keep it in the wrong conditions? Lets say you leave it somewhere warm so it all loses its structure and it's melted, who wants to unintentionally eat that melted chocolate out of foil? (Yes, i know it's meant ot be variety box chocolate)
Likewise, if you keep your life in a really bad condition, you're gonna end up with some crap you never wanted! And even if you do have the idea to fix up your life, (fridge in the chocolate), your life will still have that scar of where you've been... never shall it take the same form, or the mint engraving into it, maybe not even the same quality of your life if it's that bad!
Sharing.
The way you treat your chocolate may just defy who you are! Don't share with anyone, and you're a greedy so and so. Share with everyone and you'll have no chocolates left. But it's not just that... there's always gonna be people around, people you don't want to share your chocolate with, people you're forced to share your chocolate with and people you would share chocolate with anyday.
Not being nice to anyone just means you're a self centered douche. Be nice to everyone and you'll just be used like a bathroom utility! There's always gonna be people you'll refuse to be nice too or like, be it your annoying sibiling or that mean guy no-one likes at school/college/work. The people you're forced to be nice too, sometimes even having to hold on to them... like a demanding authority figure. And that person you'd be nice with anyday, even if you argue, it's still for a bit of fun, and you will always enjoy eachothers company and never look back on a moment together and regret it, you just continue to go forth and laugh through every stage of the way.
But you know what, in the end, that chocolate will still be chocolate. It's always going to taste the same, just diffrent concentrations of coca and diffrent ingredients being added. The way you treat your life is how much you get out of it.
Life is, like a box of chocolates.
Tl;dr?
