Minecraft help needed

So when I first started playing minecraft a few months ago I had to play on tiny to only be able to get 10 fps. Then I stumble across a mod to make it perform better called optifine and then I had gotten 50 fps on Extreme distances and everything on Fancy. But now even that I still have that I have to run it on tiny again and only get 10 fps again with every on fast or off. Why did this happen and how cna I fix it?

    My best guess is Optifine is either not working, or is outdated. If you are getting just as good as u did with it off then it isnt working properly in some way. Try uninstalling it then reinstalling it.
