Thoughts of a grumpy old man

Exam times have started at my school. Throughout may we get to do exams that consist of half of our final score, followed by exams that determine the other half throughout june/july.

So today I had my history exam about Vietnam and the Dutch Republic. It was fairly easy and I expect a high score.

To end the conflict in Vietnam the United States started a triangular diplomacy with China and the Soviet Union.

Taiwan was afraid that this triangular diplomacy would be bad for it's international position.

Explain why Taiwan's fear was justified.
