So Last tuesday i had a track race at some random school and it was just a scrimmage. He drove about 45 to go to race that didn't even really matter but thats besides the point. So i wanted to run 3200meters(2mile) race and i was prepared to do it and get a good time, i scouted out the other team and i could come in first or second but our coach decided that instead of us choosing our race, he mad us all do a 1600meters(1mile) race and from the start i didn't want to do it. I really didn't want to do it and i tried to convince my coach to just let me do a 3200m but he said no and i had to run it. So i got to starting line with about 15 other kids, about 6 from the other school and 9 from mine, the guns goes off and we all start running. I ran about 150meters and then from behind i was pushed and fell to the ground. I held out my hands and fell on my hands and knees to prevent a facial injury and then someone stepped on my left hand ring finger with their track spikes.


These are the spikes the person had on and the long black metal spikes are the ones that got my finger. The spike broke through my nail and split it in half and then pierced my finger. My coach of course didn't notice me fall and was wondering why i was in the back of pack and was screaming at me to go faster. I had to finish the rest of the 1450meters of the race, i finished in 5 minutes and 23 seconds, which isn't a horrible time but way off what i wanted.


This is a picture of what my finger looked like before i went to the emergency room to get it fixed. The really red spot is where the spike get me. Its hard to tell but where the blood makes a red line is where the nail starts. Below the nail it is nice and swollen too. Also not pictured are my hands and knees which are full of scraps and scabs. While in the hospital i hand to get a needle shove through the rest of my nail the drain the infected fluids under it (almost passed out).


This is what my finger looks like with the splint/cast. This picture was take at the hospital and thats why the room looks so boring. They say the rest of my nail should grow back in time just like new. I fractured my finger in two places and it should be all better in a few weeks. Overall it could have been worst, i could have lost a finger or had my whole hand infected and had to get it amputated. So I'm happy I'm healthy now and it doesn't hurt too bad anymore unless i hit where my nail should be. Other than that I'm pretty good Lol.
