So, I was just in the local pawn shop and I noticed some lose, cut gems in the display case. I see a nice red, step-cut gem which appeared to be either a ruby, spinel, or garnet. I've always wanted a cut gem, I don't know. so, long story short, I ask him what he wants for it, he takes it out of the case, looks it over for like 10 seconds, and says "You can have it, because it has a chip". It's a very small chip.

tl;dr, A GUY GAVE ME A VALUABLE GEMSTONE FOR NOTHING
